Campaigners have formed an action group against plans for a quarry.
Clare Dobie, of Little Braxted Mills, set up Stop the Quarry - Save the Landscape to oppose the 35 hectare quarry at Colemans Farm in Little Braxted.
Campaigners are concerned articulated lorries will cross the path of traffic coming off the A12 in Witham to reach the quarry, posing a danger, and the problems they could cause when using the narrow Little Braxted Lane.
They are also worried about the quarry's impact on otters living in the River Blackwater.
The quarry site is part of Essex County Council’s replacement minerals local plan and the county council will have the final say on the application.
