Inspectors for a care watchdog are currently carrying out an inspection at a Braintree care home at the centre of an abuse scandal.

The Care Quality Commission is now carrying out an inspection on the national standards of quality and safety at the Old Deanery care home, in Deanery Hill.

The watchdog last carried out an inspection at the home on February 26 after it had received concerns about the welfare and safety of the home’s residents.

The last inspection revealed that standards were met in treating people with respect and involving them in their care, caring for people safely and protecting them from harm and quality and suitability of management.
