Inspectors have raised a series of concerns over the safety of residents at Braintree’s biggest care home following a recent visit.

The Old Deanery in Bocking, which has already been the subject of a Panorama investigation, has now had a raft of failings revealed in a Care Quality Commission report (CQC).

In a report published this month, following a visit on February 26, CQC inspectors found on the ground floor two call bells out of 28 were out of reach for the people who needed them.

On a positive note, inspectors found the majority of people they spoke to said they were happy with the care provided.

A spokesman for the home said: “We work very closely with the CQC and we take these comments seriously.

“We have taken steps to address all of the points raised in the report and have strengthened our staff supervision and reporting systems."
