DUDLEY Metropolitan Borough Council’s Civic Awards, which aim to support the town’s unsung heroes, have been given a boost this year after security firm Cougar Monitoring agreed to support the awards as main sponsor.
Several other businesses stepped forward to support the 10th anniversary of the Mayor’s Civic Awards, which will be presented on Monday, February 25.
Councillor Melvyn Mottram, Mayor of Dudley, said: "We are hugely grateful to Cougar Monitoring for supporting the awards and working together to highlight the real community heroes of this borough.”
Andy Perry, of Cougar Monitoring, said: “Being involved in these awards is important to us because we employ 90 people in the Dudley areas.”
He added: “As an employer of local people, we know that individuals are the lifeblood not only of a business but also any thriving community. It is for this reason that we are so committed to championing the achievements of the people making a difference in our region.”
