Freezing temperatures hit

GRITTERS are on standby as temperatures last night hit their lowest this winter.

Essex County Council has more than 100 workers on standby this weekend should more snow fall.

Temperatures were as low as -5C on Friday night in north east Essex and a severe weather warning for East Anglia is still in place by the Met Office.

Should be the last night of frost to-night. Temperatures definitely above zero from now on, according to the good old Gazette's detailed forecast, so let's hope the pitch thaws out for the Brentford match on Tuesday.
