PETROL has been thrown at a garage in Weeley Heath.
A property on Clacton Road, Weeley Heath, was targetted with a container of fuel last night (February 3) at around 7.40pm.
The container hit the premises but did not cause damage.
A driver pulled up to the premises and parked on the pavement.
The suspects headed towards Little Clacton after the incident.
The home owner is unaware of any reason why his property was targeted.
Investigating officer Dc Phil Parrish has appealed for drivers who overtook the suspect car to contact police.
He said: "This part of the road has double white lines and stopping is prohibited so may have drawn attention to the other road users.
"We urgently need to speak to the drivers of two cars who may remember overtaking a vehicle that had pulled over to the nearside and parked up on the pavement. These drivers overtook the car and then continued on their journey."
Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact DC Phil Parish at Clacton Serious Crime team on 101, or give information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
