SEVERE weather is predicted with snow set to hit Essex across the weekend.
Gritters will be out across the county from 7pm Friday and more runs could be scheduled depending on up-to-date weather reports.
And 120 staff will be on standby across the weekend to treat the county's roads.
Tracey Chapman, county councillor responsible for highways & transportation said: "With severe weather forecast for the weekend we are closely monitoring weather forecasts, with our gritting fleet ready to mobilise when required.
"If you do need to travel please drive with caution and check the condition of your car before you leave."
