THREE school pals raised £135 for the Orangutan Foundation through a sponsored walk around Colchester Zoo.
Molly Saywood, Imogen Hildred and Annabelle Paddon were told about the plight of the apes during a topic on rainforests at St Mary’s Lower School, in Stanway.
They decided to raise money and walked around the zoo six times non-stop for an hour and 20 minutes.
The foundation aims to save the endangered animals, found in Borneo and Sumatra, by protecting their tropical forest habitat and promoting research and education.
