A PAEDOPHILE who indecently assaulted five children, including his sister, is behind bars after another alleged victim came forward.
Graham White was on bail awaiting sentencing after he admitted 20 counts of raping and assaulting young children.
His sister and one of his victims, Alison Chester, of Shillito Close, Colchester, called for anyone else who believed the 53-year-old had abused them to come forward. Now White has been re-arrested after a fresh allegation.
He has been remanded in custody at Chelmsford Prison ahead of a court appearance in September.
Ms Chester, 44, said: “I’m glad he’s in prison. None of us can understand why he was bailed in the first place. It will keep other people safe and I will feel a lot safer in going out.”
Ms Chester was six when her brother, then 16, sexually assaulted her.
She blocked out the memories until an old friend got in touch last year and revealed he had also been abused.
The pair contacted police and in the next 12 months five more alleged victims came forward.
Mother-of-four Ms Chester said she hoped her decision to waive her anonymity and talk about the ordeal would help other victims.
She said: “It will help people to come out and talk about it.
“If they don’t talk about it, it will ruin them for the rest of their life.”
White, a taxi driver, of Crocus Way, Chelmsford, drove children to schools in Colchester and Chelmsford.
He committed the offences between May 1971 and 1999.
He admitted 20 charges at Basildon Crown Court, but denied a further five charges, which were ordered to lie on file.
Two further charges were “stayed” and may be taken further by prosecutors at a later date.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “Following further allegations, a 53-year-old man from Chelmsford has been remanded in custody, pending an appearance in court.”
