Man robbed of phone and railcard

A MAN was robbed of his mobile phone and rail ticket when he was attacked by a three-strong gang.

The 20-year-old, from Colcheeter, was walking in Hillridge, near to the entrance of High Woods Country Park, when he was attacked.

He suffered facial injuries but did not need hospital treatment.

The men walked off down alleyways towards Tesco after the incident on Wednesday at about 1pm.

Details of the attack have just been released.

Det Con Steve Berry, said: "This robbery happened in the middle of the day so I’m thinking there would have been several people milling around in the area who either saw the assault or certainly these three young men.

"With the good descriptions we have of them, I’m hoping that someone can help us identify them and their whereabouts."

The attackers are all described as being in their late teens or early twenties and have very short hair.

Two of the men are white and about 5ft 9ins.

The third attacker is of mixed heritage and is about 6ft and muscular.

Anyone with information can call DC Berry on 0300 333 4444.

The more you build, the more scum you get. There is no argument to this, every single town in the country that expands at the rate Colchester is have exactly the same problem. We must stop the expansion of our historic town as soon as possible or it will end up like Basildon.
