THREE Colchester officers are among 160 soldiers decorated for their bravery and dedication.
Operational honours earned in Iraq and Afghanistan between April and September 2009 were announced on Friday.
Lieutenant Colonel Charles Calder, of 2nd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, was made an OBE; Major Ollie Kingsbury, of 3rd Battalion, Parachute Regiment, was made an MBE; and Captain Owen Candy, of 7th Parachute Regiment, Royal Horse Artillery, earned a Mention in Dispatches.
Secretary of State for Defence Bob Ainsworth praised the recipients as “the very best of a most remarkable military force”.
