2:16pm Wednesday 25th November 2009

THE venue where the members of Britpop legends Blur played their first gig 20 years ago is to be recognised for its musical heritage.

PRS for Music, which represents 60,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers, want to recognise the “performance birthplaces” of famous bands and artists in the 20th and 21st centuries.

On Monday they will erect their first plaque at the Goods Shed of the East Anglian Railway Museum in Chappel, where Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree first performed in 1989.
