TOWN bosses are looking at building a car park on a disused piece of land owned by a rail company.
Great Bentley parish councillors hope InTend, Tendring Council’s regeneration company, will be able to help them find funding to build a car park near Great Bentley rail station.
The town council had written to Network Rail, which owns the land, to ask about the possibility of making it into a car park.
Jonathan Hills, chairman of the parish council, said: “They have written and said at present Network Rail and National Express have no plans to build a car park at Great Bentley due to lack of funding.
“However, they would be interested if a third party were to offer funding.”
He suggested with InTend, the parish council might be able to secure the cash. He said: “We ought to try to get them on board to see if we can get some funding.”
