AN Easter hunt with a difference will be launching soon.

The annual bunny hunt, which takes place in West Bergholt, will be a fun activity for the whole family during the holidays.

Knit One Down One, a knitting and crochet group, meet fortnightly in the White Hart in West Bergholt.

For the past few years they have been knitting bunnies for children to find on a charity hunt.

All proceeds from the event are going towards the Tom Bowdidge Foundation, which was set up in memory of inspirational villager Tom, who died fighting aggressive cancer aged 19.

Jenny Noakes, from Knit One Down One, said: "Maps will go on sale at the weekend until April 14, at the White Hart and at shops and hairdressers in the village.

"The bunny hunt starts on Good Friday and will run until April 14.

"More than 160 bunnies can be spotted in and around the village - mark on the map when you see a bunny, fill in the form on the back of the map and hand it in to be entered for a prize draw.

"Last time we raised more than £600 for the Tom Bowdidge Foundation."

The knitting club was recently featured in Simply Knitting magazine.

The club mainly knits items for charity and has also been busy making teddy bears.

The bears are intended to comfort children involved in distressing incidents.

Bunny hunt maps cost £1 each.

Once completed they must be handed in to Kitty-Rose Boutique by April 17 for the prize draw. All proceeds to the Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation.

Tom died from his tumour in 2013. Since then his family have been finding ways to support health services in the name of the charity.
