A TIRELESS charity campaigner has been presented with a coveted award.
Toby Freeman, the founder and chief executive officer of the Robin Cancer Trust. has been awarded a British Citizen Award at a London ceremony.
He was nominated for the award for his work with the charity which was set up after his brother, Robin, died in December 2011 to a rare from of germ cell cancer aged 24.
The charity aims to reduce the embarrassment among young people in talking about their health and inspire them to seek medical help if they have concerns.
Mr Freeman was among 36 medalists at the event.
He said: “Receiving this award is very humbling and I’m very honoured to be picking it up, but I don’t do what I do for recognition.
“I’m just the face of the charity so it’s really thanks to all of our friends, family and all the amazing supporters.”
