LEISURE World has finally completed its renovation of an all-weather artificial pitch in Tiptree, bringing it up to FIFA standards.

The pitch has now reopened after seven weeks of work welcoming back clubs, players and sports enthusiasts.

Now, it is one of Colchester’s premier artificial playing surfaces for matches, practice sessions, junior and adult training.

Annie Feltham, Colchester councillor responsible for commercial services, said: “The council is committed to investing in our services to encourage grassroots sports clubs and support the people of Colchester to live active, healthy lifestyles.

“It's wonderful this much-loved facility in Tiptree has been renovated to such a high standard.

"We look forward to welcoming clubs back, knowing they will benefit immensely from the improvements and hope new groups will be attracted to try out the facility for themselves.”

The public will be able to access the artificial turf pitch during evenings and weekends.

To book a 5-a-side 60-minute session costs from £24.50 or an 11-a-side two-hour session from £62.80.
