FAMILIES are being offered free legal advice as part of a pilot project in Jaywick.
The Jaywick Sands Law Clinic has been set up by Law Works with the help of Jaywick Forum.
The clinic includes free half hour face-to-face sessions to discuss issues such as access to children and domestic violence, or what to do if a relationship breaks down.
Gill Elkins, from the Jaywick Forum, said: "This is a pilot project that will be running for six months.
"If it is well used then it is likely it will remain and the service on offer could even be expanded to include things like will sorting and probate.
"It's great to have a service like this for the people of Jaywick but people from outside Jaywick are also welcome to attend if there is a session free."
The legal advice clinic will take place at Hemington House, 51-53 Broadway, Jaywick, on September 20 from 10.30am until 1pm.
To book an appointment, call Gill Elkins on 01255 221049, email sarah.calder@lawworks.org.uk or contact a Barnardo’s Family Support Worker.
