PLANS have been submitted for ANOTHER escape room experience in Colchester.

Last month, a bid to convert the former Kathleen’s Kitchen in Long Wyre Street, Colchester, into an interactive puzzle experience was given the green light.

Now a fresh bid from another applicant has been submitted to change Global House in Moorside from a business centre into an escape room.

In a planning statement, Jacqueline Sosta said she was keen for the experience to appeal to all ages.

She said: “We would like to open an interactive live action puzzle room experience, starting with two puzzle rooms and adding a third at a later date.

“The format is known as an escape game, where participants are given 60 minutes to solve puzzles and win the game.

“The games can be played by individuals or groups including corporate team building experiences and school groups.”

She added: “Escape games encourage critical thinking and team work as well as encouraging participants to think outside the box.

“Group sizes range from two to six, with a maximum of two groups every 90 minutes.

“We would like to operate from 9am to 11pm from Monday to Sunday. “ “The office suites include the use of six allocated parking spaces.

“Work has not started on the project.”

A decision on whether the conversion can go ahead is expected from the council by September 12.
