CRICKET bosses plan to appoint a project manager to oversee the creation of a brand new pavilion.
Colchester and East Essex Cricket Club has permission to build a £450,000 state-of-the-art club house in its Castle Park grounds but it must fundraise in order to raise the cash.
Since a campaign launch in October, the club has raised £155,000 including a £125,000 grant from Colchester Council.
Club chairman Andrew Kennedy said: "In the next three weeks the club will be appointing a project manager whose task will be to manage a tender process for the whole pavilion project.
"For the other grant funds that we are applying to, three quotes are required and these will be the focus of the project manager who will ensure that the club obtain the best value for the project."
It is expected the tender process will take six weeks.
The club has also been shortlisted as one of eight projects in line for four £20,000 grants as part of Colchester Council's Big Choice scheme.
To vote in the ballot, go to colchester.govuk/bigchoice before Friday, March 10.
