FAMILIES are set to benefit from a festive swimming offer.
Between December 19 and January 2, a family swim at Leisure World will cost £11 - less than half the usual price.
It is hoped the move will attract families to enjoy the 25-year-old Cowdray Avenue centre's slides and water cannons, alongside new interactive waterball, fill ’n’ spill buckets, water jets and a new toddler slide.
The offer follows a temporary closure between December 12 and 16 for the new features to be installed.
Annie Feltham, Colchester councillor responsible for leisure, said: "I would encourage all families in Colchester to take advantage of this great value leisure pool offer and come and see our fully refurbished changing rooms and interactive water features.
"Every year our centres get a million visits – made up of the residents of Colchester and people coming in especially to use the facilities, so I’m delighted that we’ve been able to invest £1.5 million in refurbishing Leisure World Colchester during 2016/17."
Leisure World will be open every day over the festive break, except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
