SCHOOLCHILDREN will be trying out sailing, learning how to make fruit salads and taking part in skipping competitions as part of a Healthy Living Week.
Hazelmere Junior School, in Colchester, is running the event thisweek to promote healthy lifestyles.
In the lead up, the youngsters designed their own T-shirts, sponsored by councillors Tina Bourne and Tim and Julie Young through their locality budgets, to wear during the week.
Year 6 pupil Emily Beal said: “I am enjoying Healthy Living Week as it keeps us fit and healthy. I have learnt not to always eat chocolate.”
Her classmate Nelson Wereko said: “Healthy Living Week is a great experience as it is teaching us to be healthy and lead an active life.”
They will be making their own healthy advert videos and writing texts on the topic.
