WALKERS who use Army ranges near Colchester have been warned they may find them closed at short notice for training.
A Ministry of Defence bosses statement said although no training was planned at Middlewick or Fingringhoe ranges in July, troops might have to use them at the last minute “for operational reasons”.
When this happens and the ranges are closed and red flags or red lights can be seen the ranges are closed to walkers who are usually allowed in.
