A MAN has died after suffering a cardiac arrest at Colchester Leisure World.

Paramedics and the air ambulance were called just before 5pm yesterday.

The Herts Air Ambulance landed by the skate park and paramedics rushed over.

They tried to save the man, aged in his 40s, but he sadly died at the scene.

Staff at the leisure centre also did their best to help.

Matthew Young, head of operational services at Colchester Council, said: "Leisure World offers their deepest sympathies to the gentleman involved in this incident and send sincere condolences to the family.

"We have defibrillators on-site and staff are fully trained to use these units.

"Unfortunately we were called upon to use one of these units on Sunday while paramedics made their way to Leisure World.”
