I commute to London by train every day and I’d like to comment on the article in last Thursday’s Gazette about the passengers complaining about being fined for sitting in first class.

These two people are behaving like spoilt children.

If a train is full, then they should either stand (it’s only 50 minutes on that train), or a simple alternative would have been for them to get the next train.

Colchester is blessed with a high-frequency service to London and the next train only leaves a few minutes later.

I’m very glad the rail company stood its ground!
