On Saturday evening, I attended Olympimad, a MAD Theatre performance at the West Cliff Theatre, Clacton.
First of all, I would like to thank director Indi Allen for inviting me to her show.
It was a pleasure to attend and support one of our many excellent amdram groups in Tendring which offer our budding young (and not so young) actors an opportunity to tread the boards.
The show was a fitting addition to celebrate the Year of Sport and encourage our excitement as we lead up to London 2012.
It was a journey through time visiting all the past Olympic Games and collecting sport-related items to ensure the survival of future games from the evil Lord Maddidas.
Our young hero, Alex London, saved the day – and, more importantly, the games!
Congratulations to all the cast and crew for putting on a wonderful production and for pulling in a hefty-sized audience.
You certainly have my support as chairman, and I hope everybody else will lend their support too – especially to your Christmas panto.

Chairman
Tendring Council
