Funding the minority

I read Stephen Mayzes, councillor responsible for tourism and community life at Tendring Council, has a view that “only a small minority benefit from the (council football) pitches, so why should all taxpayers fund that?”

Surely, only a very small minority benefit from council allowances. If we begin a policy of not funding minority sections of the community, where do we end up? Funding only the majority?
