I trust Colchester’s planners will have the sense to keep the town’s temporary bus station open until it is replaced.

In my opinion, it is ridiculous to even consider making Head Street a twoway traffic bus hub.

The pavements are too narrow on both sides of the street to accommodate those waiting for buses and others walking by, as can be seen on the west side of the street already.

The only place to wait for, or change, buses in Colchester comfortably is the temporary bus station.

Almost all other stops can get so crowded the queues impede pedestrians or spill out into the road.

Surely those who use public transport in Colchester deserve better than this.

Until a clear-sighted plan is in place for a new bus station, the temporary one should remain open.

It need not close, as that would seem to be impractical.

It only requires for the planned development for the temporary bus station site to be put on hold until the new bus station is ready.

I would hope the benefit of the town and those who live in it comes as a priority when planners and developers are taking these decisions, especially when their reputations with the public are a stake.
