Aftermath - police on the scene by the stricken Audi. Picture: Reader JAMIE CURTIS

Many thanks to reader Jamie Curtis, who captured this dramatic video footage of a car fire in Bournebridge Hill, Halstead, today.

Jamie, 19, spotted the car in difficulties from the back garden of his Pennypots Corner home.

The footage shows flames leaping from the bonnet of the stricken Audi, which caught fire at about 10.45am today.

The video also shows firefighters extinguishing the blaze.
