Workmen gave road users a fleeting smile as they resurfaced the roundabout at the junction of East Street, Harwich Road and Ipswich Road in Colchester.
Sadly they obliterated the cheery face before the road reopened yesterday afternoon.

Lovely new smooth road. Does anyone know when Greenstead Road will be resurfaced? It is such a mess. Every time I ask the highways people they tell me hopefully next time.It seems, as usual, tomorrow never comes!
