Police have issued a video appeal as they ask for potential witnesses to the murder of a student.

Detectives investigating the murder of Colchester student Nahid Al-Manea will today be issuing some new appeals for information to trace people who may have been in the area where she was discovered.

Nahid, 31, was studying at Essex University and was murdered on the Salary Brook trail, Greenstead, two weeks ago.

Detective Chief Superintendent Steve Worron has asked the public to help trace those who were on or near the Salary Brook Trail between 10am and 10.40am on Tuesday, June 17.

Mr Worron said: "We have officers both on foot and using bicycles patrolling the green open spaces particularly focusing around the areal of the Salary Brook Trail where Nahid's body was discovered on June 17.

"Those patrols are there to provide reassurance to the local community but they also offer the community the opportunity to come forward and speak to officers.

"I'd still appeal to anybody who was on the Salary Brook Trail between 10am and 10.40am to come forward and speak to us.

"You may not think that you have any information that can help our enquiry and help to find Nahid's killer or killers but you may hold a vital clue that can help the investigation."
