Residents left without green waste sacks for more than two months

GARDEN waste is stacking up at Colchester homes after high demand left recycling bag stocks dry.

Residents have gone more than two months without the white sacks, which are usually dispensed by Colchester Council.

Doris Bird, Old Heath resident, said: “Three collections have been and gone.

“I’ve tried burning my rubbish but there is a lot of it.

“We are told to recycle all we can but then are not given the bags.”

Why has this so called story been repeated? Garden waste does not have to be put out in white bags supplied by the council! Bags of a similar size can been used! I use green plastic garden waste bags that have handles which were bought in Wilkinsons.

Most Gazette stories are repeated on this website, sometimes more than once. it would be nice to know why. Sometimes there is some new element of news added, but usually there isn't.
.
It would be nice if the Gazette could explain why this is done.

Every shop in Colchester was out of stock of bags for two months? Seems like we're looking at a much bigger problem than this article suggests.
