In today's Gazette: A robber has struck twice in 30 minutes in Old Heath, Colchester.
In the first incident, a pizza delivery driver was beaten by a man who may have been armed with a knife. In the second, the victim was threatened outside a supermarket in Old Heath Road.
* A mum prompted a rescue operation after she ignored warnings and became stranded on the Strood at Mersea island.
Police had reportedly warned the mum-of-two not to drive across the water but she ignored the advice and the woman, a young girl and a baby were trapped in the car in the middle of the causeway.
* Con artists are preying on the elderly in Colchester. Two women got into an 85-year-old man's home by pretending to be from social services and stole cash.
* Colchester's bus station could be transformed into a Christmas market just weeks after it closes down.
