Speakers to celebrate the arts at Oyster Feast

MUSIC loving mayor Christopher Arnold has selected leading members of the arts world to speak at Colchester’s famous Oyster Feast.

The feast is being held in the Moot Hall next Friday and traditionally celebrates the town’s rich heritage and sense of community.

This year, Colchester mayor Mr Arnold has chosen Nigel Hildreth, musical director of Colne Valley Youth Orchestra, Dee Evans, former artistic director of the Mercury Theatre, and Dr William McVicker, organ curator at London’s Royal Festival Hall and a visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music, as his guest speaks.

I do hope they remember to invite everyone from the golden shed. Most of the 'arts elite' in Colchester would happily crawl over broken glass for a free lunch. (Let's hope that everyone actually pays for their lunch and it is not at taxpayer's expense)

Care to elaborate? Then again, perhaps not. 'Grrrrr' is a lot better than wading through the drivel you normally spout.

You're a twit Bert. You really do need to deal with that inferiortity complex of yours. This is a fine Colchester tradition that we are talking about here. I suppose you would have us all dragged down to your level. I can't say I have been noting your views very much, so am not aware as to whether you have had anything positive to say about anything yet.

'inferiortity' . That's more like it Sdapeze. Glad to see you're still taking the bait.

Simple question for a simple fellow: who's paying for this fine Colchester tradition in this new age of austerity? Will the distinguished guests be getting their wallets out or is it just another free lunch for the arts elite?

Twit and saddo (in another post) - your repertoire of playground insults is impressive. To be expected from someone that gives the impression of having a mental age of 11.

Grrrrrr
