STAFF from a Colchester insurance company have raised more than £1,000 in a reverse jailbreak.
Eight employees at Towergate Connect were dropped off at Maldon’s Promenade Park with no cash and no phones on Saturday.
The four teams then had to race to get back to the office, at the Octagon centre in Middleborough, in the fastest time.
The event raised cash for Cancer Research UK and was won by Megan Pocock and Ricky Hunn who were helped by Maurice Edgington.
Mr Edgington's family had been affected by cancer and offered to drive the pair to Witham, before continuing on to Colchester when it began to rain and delivering them back in just over an hour.
