A RETIRED photo technician has fulfilled a life dream by returning to Australia 47 years after his first trip there.

Mike Blowers, 77, worked for many years in the dark room of luxury cruise ships and got to travel the world.

Mr Blowers, of West Street, Rowhedge, visited the Pacific, Far East and West Indies among other places, and saw the Sydney Opera House being built in 1965.

Last month Mr Blowers was finally able to return to see the finished building, now recognised across the world as an icon for Australia, while on a five week-trip to the continent.
