THREE regular Gazette readers scooped £250 between them when their loyalty card numbers were drawn out of a hat.
Brian Wilson and Jo Weaver each took home top prizes of £100 while Margaret Quinn bagged herself £50.
The trio were presented their cheques by Tanya Rees and Karen Mole from the Gazette’s promotion team.
Tanya said: “We are delighted for all of our winners and would like to thank them for their continued loyalty to the Gazette.
“There is money up for grabs every day with your Astute card, including a top prize of £300 pounds daily for the next two weeks.
“Even if you are not a winner you can still take advantage of the great deals and discounts on offer with your Astute card a dozens of local businesses.”
Alresford resident Mr Wilson, 77, said he and his wife Wendy had subscribed to the paper for about 20 years.
“The prize has come at a good time as we needed to sort our washing machine out,” he joked.
“With the new look supplements I can take them out if I just want the news, and keep it to read later if it’s something my wife or I are interested in.”
Ms Weaver, who lives in the Ipswich Road area of Colchester, said she planned to reward herself with the winnings.
“I’m going to treat myself to a new handbag I think”, said Ms Weaver, 41.
“I was surprised to win. My reaction was shock as I don’t win things like this usually.
“I rang my family because I was excited, but my parents were just checking their numbers so I think they were actually a bit disappointed they hadn’t won.
“I have been a subscriber since moving to our new house about six years ago. The new look Gazette is definitely thicker and has impressed me.”
Mrs Quinn, from Parsons Heath, said: “ I like the new look Gazette, there’s some interesting things in there.
“I couldn’t believe it when I won because I’m someone that has never won anything like that before. It’s definitely a bonus.”

A list of Astute card winning numbers is printed every day in the Gazette, and winners have four weeks from the date of publication to claim the reward.
