DOZENS of police officers swooped on a suspected drugs den in Brook Street, Colchester.

Officers and sniffer dogs searched the property following a tip-off the property was being used to deal drugs.

The suspect was not at home and police did not find any illegal substances.

However, the operation has been welcomed by neighbours.

The suspect had probably gone out to buy some drugs and saw dozens of police officers hanging around outside his house and turned around and drove away.
