X Factor hopefuls District 3 wowed judges with their musical talent on their second appearance on the live shows.

The band, which includes Tendring boy Greg West, 18, were praised for their “faultless” harmonies during their rendition of All 4 One – I Swear.

Tulisa Contostavlos said: “For me your strong point is your harmonies so [the song] really showed off how good at it you are.

“I am going to face the facts here. You will be competing with the other boy band in the competition so you need to up your game and work hard. But you have the strongest harmonies in the competition so work on those strong points and you go for it.”

Footage before their performance saw the teen heart-throbs raise concerns about the song choice with mentor Louis Walsh as they felt it was old-fashioned.

Greg, who is from Clacton and went to school in Dovercourt and Manningtree, said: “We don’t want to come across cheesy.

“We tried to take it in a modern direction and we have all our faith in Louis.”

Despite being pitch perfect, some of the judges agreed. Gary said: “You’ve had a really bad night tonight. When you watch this back you will be disappointed. The very last note was really off and the song choice was really dated.”

Its all a matter of taste. I prefer District3 to the other group and their harmonies are fantastic. Greg is a very caring young man and comes across as being the leader. Good luck lads, don't let the judges bring you down especially Louis who always seems to loose the plot. Another prime example of what young people can achieve without drink, drugs and weapons.
