Colchester: Secondary schools consultation events

OPEN events to find out more about secondary school provision in Colchester begin this week.
Parents of pupils at The Gilberd School are invited there to meet Essex County Council officers and teachers to discuss the issue between 4pm and 8pm tomorrow.
Further open events will take place at schools and community venues over the coming days.
Tomorrow St Helena School will play host between 4pm and 8pm.
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, between the same times, it will be the turns of Stanway School, Philip Morant School and Colchester Academy, respectively.
On Monday October 22 there will be an open event at Thomas Lord Audley School, between 4pm and 8pm,
Thursday October 24 will see the doors of the Army Welfare Community Centre in Fallowfields Road thrown open for the event, between 10am and 3pm.
A public consultation has been launched into where secondary school students will be taught from 2015 to cope with the rise in the town’s population.
Hundreds of new school places will be created.
