Teenager injured after brick attack on university building

A TEENAGER was injured when bricks were thrown through a window of an Essex University building.

Yobs threw several bricks at the university accomodation building, in Avon Way, Colchester between 8pm and 9pm on Tuesday.

One struck an 18-year-old, who was visiting friends, on the head, causing a one-inch cut.

She was treated in hospital.

PC Ben Knighton, investigating officer, said: "We’re not sure why this accommodation building was the target of vandals, but if they continue to commit such crimes, then potentially someone could get seriously injured.”

Anyone with information on the assault and criminal damage should contact Colchester police station on 101.
