Adopt a squaddie - and send your support

COLCHESTER shoppers are being asked to send their support to troops serving on the front line.
The Invicta Foundation, which was founded by Stephen Hall after his son Ashley was seriously injured in Afghanistan, is running a scheme called Adopt a British Squaddie.
It will see members of the public sending out goods and letters to servicemen and women serving on operations across the world.
The foundation will be collecting donations of goods in Red Lion Walk in the Red Lion shopping centre on Wednesday.
Anyone wanting to contribute can fill a shoebox with goods such as snacks, toiletries, confectionary, clothing and games, all of which must be sealed.
Alternatively, they can take donations which will be made up into boxes.
Mr Hall set up the foundation after Ashley, a former student at St Benedict’s College and Colchester Institute, lost both legs after he stood on an improvised explosive device.
He has had to undergo successive operations before he can learn to walk again.
