Halstead: Town scoops prestigious Britain in Bloom award

Halstead has been crowned best town at the annual Britain in Bloom awards.

Having already scooped the top prize at last month’s Anglia in Bloom awards, the Halstead in Bloom team secured its first ever category win at yesterday’s national ceremony in Guernsey.

The volunteer gardening group, which had only previously won the gold award at that level, saw off the challenges of the likes of Newquay in Cornwall and Linlithgow in Scotland to be crowned overall winner in the town category.

And we'll done to them!

It always looks very pretty as you drove through their little town.

Yes, well done Halstead.

But how odd that the ceremony was not held in the United Kingdom.

Nice attempt at being a smart****, Boris. However, it is fairly obvious that, as a British crown dependency, Guernsey is perfectly qualified to host BRITAIN in Bloom, despite not being part of the United Kingdom. Must try harder, old son.
