Job hunting help for Greenstead residents

JOBSEEKERS from a Colchester estate are being given the chance to brush up their interview skills as part of a new initiative.

A pilot of the Step Up Programme will see eight people from Greenstead go through the job application process for a dummy position, and receive feedback on how they get on.

Along the way they will take part in four workshops covering CV advice, interview techniques, and other useful job hunting tips.

Backed by a number of businesses the scheme has been set up Carillion, the construction company behind the new building at the Colchester Academy.

The programme launches on Wednesday October 10 between noon and 2pm at the Greenstead Community Centre in Hawthorn Avenue. Residents wanting to take part can collect application forms and meet the companies taking part during the launch event.
