Dancers wanted for charity marathon event
12:32pm Wednesday 3rd October 2012 in News
DANCERS are stepping out this weekend to raise cash for charity.
The Colne Bank School of Dancing is taking part in the Ultimate Dance Challenge in support of Save the Children.
Twinkle-toes of all ages will be doing street jazz, salsa and zumba on Sunday and want people of all abilities to join them.
The event takes place at the Brightlingsea Sports Centre, Church Road, with warm ups at 10am.
People convinced their two left feet cannot be turned to dancing are invited to do other sports at the centre between 5pm and 10pm on Friday or 1pm to 3pm Saturday. For a donation towards the charity people can do squash, football, badminton or other sports.
Backed by former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips the national dance challenge is calling on dancers across the country to get sponsorship and take part in a five-hour dance marathon.
Anyone unable to take part can sponsor the dance students at their JustGiving page.
For more information visit the dance school's website or to read about the national challenge go to the Save the Children website. To pre-book a sports court call 01206 304946.
