AUTHOR Anne Cassidy paid Colchester school children a visit.

The young adult crime writer was at St Mary’s School, in Lexden Road, Colchester, to teach kids how to write creatively.

The former teacher, who has written more than 30 books, also took time to speak to the group of girls, aged between 11 and 14, about her career.

Headteacher Hilary Vipond said: “She is a wonderful author and is popular amongst our pupils.

“I’m sure a visit from such a high profile writer will be extremely inspirational and we will look forward to reading the girls’ own efforts.”
