Army fitness challenge for runners

HUNDREDS of runners have signed up to take on the key fitness test for the Parachute Regiment.

The Paras’ 10 is taking place in Colchester for the first time later this month.

It is a ten mile run that can be completed as a cross-country run or wearing boots and carrying a 35lb rucksack, known as tabbing.

Runners are given a target of one hour and 50 minutes.

Around 600 have already signed up.

All money raised from the entrance fees will go towards the Parachute Regiment Charity, which supports Paras and their families, but people can also collect sponsorship for any charity.

The run takes place on Sunday, October 21.
