Skate park plans would "ruin park's tranquility"
4:50pm Monday 1st October 2012 in News By Andrea Collitt
A SKATE park in a Colchester beauty spot could ruin the tranquility and encourage anti-social behaviour, it has been claimed.
Plans are shaping up for the £140,000 facility in High Woods Country Park.
It could be up and running by spring 2014.
But St John's resident Donald Smith said: "A skate board facility would be sure to threaten the character of the park. I feel the tranquility of the area will be lost and it will obviously set a precedent for other active facilities to be established, with no doubt an increase in anti-social activity."
