PUPILS had a special treat when the Essex Air Ambulance landed at their school to reward their charity efforts.

The life-saving chopper landed at Elmstead Primary School, Elmstead Market, after the school was one of the first to say they were doing events for National Air Ambulance Week.

Schoolchildren raised £330 by holding a non-uniform day and wearing green and yellow to match the charity’s helicopter.

They were thrilled when charity mascot Pilot Pete visited the school and the helicopter landed on the school field, although the visit had to be cut short when the emergency team received a call-out.
