Traders push ahead with plans to create the Colchester Walls
8:00pm Tuesday 25th September 2012 in News
INDEPENDENT traders are pushing ahead with plans to create a £1.3million shopping area in Colchester, inspired by Brighton’s Lanes.
More than 25 traders have thrown their support behind the proposal and have formed a working group.
The plan is to “create” a route from Priory Street to Balkerne Lane taking in the independent shops in Short Wyre Street, Sir Isaac’s Walk, Trinity Street and Church Street.
It has been given the working title Colchester Walls, but that could change.

Try sorting out the traffic infrastructure, cycle lanes, parking charges before we even think about any more "lanes" (pardon the pun).in principle a great idea Brighton north laine is a brilliant thriving place to be, but lets get real if you can't get to and park in Colchester without hassle then there's no point to it.
Why are there always people who whinge about anything and everything.
If these traders want to improve things let them.
There's nothing wring with parking and transport in Colchester if you avoid rush hour.
