Knife is only a big city or gang problem, sadly folks that comment is not true and I know as I run a anti-knife group on FB called ANTI-KNIFE UK and do daily updates from across the uk. How long must we continue to have a goverment and justice system that goes soft on street crime. We need to realise that incidents like this can happen anywhere in the UK and we should all be aware of it,not wait for it too effect somebody or somewhere we know.WAKE UP KNIFE CRIME IS GETTING WORSE RATHER THEN BETTER.

I completely agree the punishment for crimes in this country are a joke while us law biding tax payers suffer the consequences, the punishment should fit the crime not the age as well, these little yobs no very well what they are doing.

The more I read about Colchester and Clacton lately, the happier I am I moved my family to Suffolk. It's not a good sign when the "posher side" of Highwoods (as they like to be seen as being the other side of the road from Chinook) gets things like this. Not good at all.

To be honest I think you should get the soldiers from Merville barracks! To team up with Essex police an go on patrol! Not the military police other regiments with in Merville barracks, and to carry weapons they will sort this town out! If people see soldiers on the streets they will think twice before committing a crime! Who agrees

I seriously think the water in this area must be tested for there is little else to explain the behaviour of grown men (and women)

Suffolk is not without problems, the Suffolk Strangler for instant, mustn't forget about that.

Yeah agreed Suffolk, Essex most of the uk in fact have all got a huge problem with knife culture. But the same underlying factors are still there, the punishment for carrying or using knives is not much of a deterent, ie being charged with gbh!! It should be attempted murder end of story.it's not just the kids, grown men are at it as well!!

I have read through the comments and what we see is people agreeing that there is a knife problem, but instead of saying lets try and do something, they are saying .....oh i want to move away or i have moved away. Sad to say Knife crime is now UK problem and maybe this latest attack has made you see that even quiet villages are being effected. Sadly a young teenager was stabbed in Colchester in 2005 and was killed, but did his mother move away ....NO she started campaigning and doing stuff to bring awareness to knife crime and since then has done a lot of good work.....so just imagine what you all could do if you stood up to this knife crime instead of running away.
Checkout ANTI-KNIFE UK on FB and see how serious knife crime is across the UK.

What was the cause of this alleged neighbour dispute that led to this alleged knife crime?

The printed version of the Gazette doesn't specify the reasons.

There will always be murderers and those who inflict serious harm on one another in this country, the same as there will always be terrorist's in Afghanistan.

Was it anything to do with drug dealing and the playing of loud music?
